Believers just would not take anything as proof which contradicts their beliefs, just like they have been ignoring for centuries proofs of evolution, of the non-existence of the Firmament, of the impossibility of virgin conception, and some even of the earth being round…

Many would probably believe it. Which would even fit with Christian belief because the Bibke says many will turn from God before the end.

But of course it all depends on what “proof” is enough.

Like athiests who claim evolution and the Big Bang disprove God while glossing over where matter came from first and how inorganic material became organic when no scientific evidence exists that is testable beyond an interesting idea. Even then ignoring possibilities like Intelligent Design and claiming omniscience to know God doesn’t exist.

What would believers do if a human appeared before them and showed them evidence that god was made up by the human race who misled mankind? Oh wait, that happens all the time, so I guess we know what they would do! Would you expect any different response to an alien? I think not.
